Education Coordinator

About the role

The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is seeking an Education Coordinator to lead its education programme across Burundi and Tanzania. Reporting to the Country Director, the coordinator will ensure inclusive, high‑quality education services for refugees, displaced persons and repatriates.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with partners and stakeholders in the Education‑in‑Emergencies sector at sub‑national and camp levels.
• Provide oversight and support for effective education sector coordination, ensuring common reporting tools, needs assessments and harmonised project design.
• Promote inter‑agency programme implementation to maximise impact, avoid overlap and fill gaps.
• Contribute to sector advocacy, resource mobilisation and common education strategies.
• Monitor sector progress, compile timely reports on partner performance against key indicators.
• Share analysis of education needs and gaps to align partners with strategic objectives.
• Prepare and organise monthly education coordination meetings and related documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in education coordination within humanitarian or refugee contexts.
• Proven ability to work with multiple partners and agencies in a collaborative manner.
• Strong understanding of formal and non‑formal education programmes, including teacher training and adult literacy.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
