Driver – Transport Staff for IOM in Makamba

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a reliable driver to operate its vehicle(s) in Makamba. The incumbent will transport IOM staff, partners and authorized cargo safely and efficiently, supporting field operations and city‑based activities.

Key responsibilities

• Drive IOM vehicle(s) in compliance with traffic rules and road discipline.
• Ensure the safety of passengers, cargo and the vehicle at all times.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (tires, brakes, oil, fan belt, etc.) and basic maintenance to keep the vehicle roadworthy.
• Prepare weekly vehicle status reports for the Fleet Manager and promptly report any defects.
• Maintain a vehicle log sheet, including fuel consumption and oil changes.
• Collect and deliver mail or documents as directed by the supervisor.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed and keep it clean.
• Secure vehicle keys at the end of each shift and hand them over to the next driver.
• Assist in planning regular services and respond to accidents by informing supervisors and obtaining police reports.
• Be available to work weekends or after‑hours when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or high‑school diploma.
• Valid driving licence (B, C, D class).
• Ability to conduct basic vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
