Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a senior Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme (AESPP Boost). The expert will lead the development, deployment and uptake of Earth Observation services and applications, especially those built on Copernicus data, to address climate, environmental and development challenges across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver EO‑based solutions for early‑warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management, biodiversity and other priority sectors.
• Coordinate with African institutions, policy makers and private‑sector partners to promote user uptake of Copernicus products.
• Contribute technical expertise to the project proposal and subsequent implementation phases.
• Provide guidance on data integration, processing workflows and service delivery models.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services or climate/environmental applications.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services using Copernicus data.
• Demonstrated experience working with African institutions or facilitating user adoption is an asset.
• Fluent English; working knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
