Driver – Vehicle Operations

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a reliable driver to operate its office vehicle in Bujumbura. The driver will transport IOM staff, partners, and authorized goods safely and efficiently, supporting the organization’s mission of humane migration management.

Key responsibilities

• Drive assigned IOM vehicle(s) for official trips within the city and to field locations.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (tires, brakes, oil, fan belt) and arrange minor repairs.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure regular service intervals are met.
• Keep accurate records of spare parts, mileage, fuel consumption, and prepare monthly reports.
• Plan the most direct and safe routes using available roads.
• Ensure vehicle use is limited to authorized official business.
• Maintain confidentiality and take actions to mitigate security risks during transport.

Required profile

• National of Burundi, as the position is open to nationals only.
• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle class.
• Good knowledge of local road conditions and routes.
• Ability to maintain vehicle logs and reports accurately.
• High level of discretion and professionalism.
