Programme Support Officer (UG)

About the role

The Programme Support Officer (UG) will work within the IOM Burundi Country Office, supporting the development, design and reporting of migration‑related programmes. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the Project Development and Support Unit Coordinator, the role collaborates closely with Programme Managers, Regional Thematic Specialists and headquarters units.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in drafting project funding submissions, proposals and appeals, ensuring internal coherence and alignment with donor requirements.
• Provide technical inputs for periodic programme reports, including interim and final donor reports.
• Monitor reporting timelines and quality, following IOM procedures and donor guidelines.
• Document significant decisions, challenges and lessons learned during programme implementation.
• Support programme managers in preparing progress analyses and monitoring documentation.

Required profile

• University‑level education (undergraduate) in a relevant field such as International Development, Migration Studies or a related discipline.
• At least one year of experience in programme support, project coordination or a similar role, preferably within an international organization.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Experience drafting project proposals and donor reports.
• Ability to synthesize programme data and produce clear analytical summaries.
• Familiarity with IOM or UN‑type reporting procedures.
