Programme Support Officer (UG)

About the role

The Programme Support Officer (UG) will assist the IOM Burundi Country Office in developing, designing and documenting migration‑related projects. Working under the Chief of Mission and the Project Development and Support Unit Coordinator, the role provides technical input for proposals, reporting and knowledge management.

Key responsibilities

• Support project development by drafting sections of funding proposals, appeals and ensuring internal coherence.
• Provide technical inputs for periodic donor reports, interim and final reports, and monitor reporting timelines.
• Prepare internal progress analyses, document decisions, issues and deviations, and contribute to risk mitigation.
• Collect, process, analyse and document project data for reporting and knowledge‑management purposes.
• Coordinate with Programme Managers, Regional Thematic Specialists and Headquarters units to ensure alignment of activities.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., International Relations, Development Studies, Project Management).
• Experience in programme or project support within an international organization or UN‑related context.
• Familiarity with donor reporting requirements and UN procedures.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across country and headquarters.
