About the role
One Acre Fund is seeking a Field Operations Associate to support its agricultural program in Burundi. The role combines operational management of farmer services with the development of scalable innovations that improve farmer incomes and resilience.
Key responsibilities
- Execute the One Acre Fund program in a designated region, delivering training, credit management and input distribution to smallholder farmers.
- Process farmer payments, manage SMS communications, and coordinate the transport of agricultural inputs.
- Identify and pilot innovative agricultural, nutrition and environmental products, analyzing results from thousands of households.
- Support continuous program improvement, including integration of mobile‑money systems and testing loan models.
- Collaborate with field agents and senior staff to build infrastructure that removes barriers to scale.
Required profile
- Strong interest in agriculture and rural development.
- Ability to work in a fast‑moving, data‑driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with farmers and internal teams.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Burundi.
