Remote Accountant – US GAAP/UK GAAP Expertise

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our remote team on a full‑time basis. The successful candidate will handle daily accounting operations, ensure tax compliance and deliver accurate financial reporting in line with US GAAP or UK GAAP/IFRS to support our growth.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions, including expenses, revenue and invoices in the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss) compliant with US GAAP or UK GAAP/IFRS.
• Perform bank reconciliations, monitor accounts payable/receivable and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Compute tax liabilities, prepare tax returns and process payroll in accordance with local laws.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and expense analysis to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP or UK Accounting Principles (IFRS/UK GAAP).
• Professional certification preferred: CPA (US) or ACCA/ACA/CIMA (UK).
• Excellent analytical ability, high attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or SAP.
