Compliance & HSE Manager – Burundi

About the role

The Compliance & HSE Manager for Burundi will ensure that all operations meet GardaWorld client requirements and internal standards, with a strong focus on health, safety and environmental (HSE) compliance across the country’s sites.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain records and fulfil all requirements of the GardaWorld Business Management System for the department.
• Implement the HSE Plan and related annexes at branch and Tier 1 levels.
• Conduct and review annual fire risk assessments for all offices, kennels and client sites.
• Carry out first‑aid, environmental and hazardous‑substance assessments and ensure appropriate training.
• Maintain waste transfer notes and a waste register.
• Provide HSE support for technical installations and deliver HSE training to the Burundi team.
• Perform monthly internal audits for departments and key clients.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with welfare arrangements.
• Report, investigate and manage incidents in line with GardaWorld standards.
• Oversee environmental management, permits to work and related logs.
• Support bid preparation and regional training/internal audits as requested.
• Upload all required forms and records to the SharePoint system using the correct folder structure.

Required profile

• Familiarity with GardaWorld Business Management System and its documentation requirements.
• Experience conducting fire risk, first‑aid, environmental and hazardous‑substance assessments.
• Ability to lead internal audits and ensure continuous compliance.
• Strong knowledge of local HSE regulations and ISO standards relevant to the role.
• Capability to provide HSE training and support technical installations.
• Proven track record of incident reporting, investigation and corrective action implementation.
