International CPD Development Consultant

About the role

The International Consultant will support UNICEF's Country Programme Development (CPD) process in Burundi for 6.5 months, working remotely with periodic travel to Bujumbura. The role involves reviewing documents, facilitating high‑level programmatic discussions, and producing key papers that shape the country’s strategic plan.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive reviews of existing programme documents and data.
• Facilitate cross‑sectoral and high‑level strategic discussions with stakeholders.
• Draft and finalize key CPD documents, including policy briefs and programme outlines.
• Provide technical guidance on UNICEF planning processes and CPD development.
• Coordinate with multi‑stakeholder teams to ensure consensus and alignment.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in development studies, social sciences, public policy or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in programme planning and development.
• Strong experience with UNICEF planning processes, especially CPD development.
• Proven ability to facilitate high‑level strategic discussions and work in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Fluency in both French and English.
