Resource Development Manager

About the role

The Resource Development Manager will lead the design and execution of grant acquisition and donor engagement strategies for a global humanitarian organization. This role ensures alignment with regional and global objectives, drives innovation in resource mobilization, and supports the organization’s mission to improve the lives of vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead revision and rollout of the grants acquisition and management strategy in line with global, regional and country plans.
• Assist senior leadership in setting realistic annual grant income projections and track performance against targets.
• Coordinate cross‑functional task forces to prioritize opportunities, allocate resources and apply Go/No‑Go decision criteria.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for proposal development, pre‑positioning and issue resolution in grant performance.
• Identify, engage and cultivate relationships with new and existing donors, leading pre‑positioning meetings and strategic donor engagements.
• Work with communications to develop impact statements, marketing materials and donor‑focused branding.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date donor landscape, record requirements and develop a Donor Engagement Plan mapping priorities to program areas.
• Recruit, onboard and manage a competent Resource Development team and maintain an efficient grant opportunity tracking system.

Required profile

• Proven experience in grant acquisition, donor engagement and resource development within the nonprofit or humanitarian sector.
• Strong leadership and team‑management skills, with ability to coordinate cross‑functional initiatives.
• Excellent analytical abilities to assess donor landscapes, prioritize opportunities and track performance.
• Effective communication skills for building credibility with donors and partners.
• Ability to develop strategic plans, budgets and performance reports for senior leadership.
