National Consultant – WASH Survey for Cholera Priority Areas (Burundi)

About the role

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking a National Consultant to lead and support a baseline WASH survey in Burundi’s cholera priority zones (PAMIS). The consultant will provide technical leadership and build capacity for the implementation of an economical survey model that leverages the Burundi Red Cross volunteer network.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the design and execution of the WASH baseline survey in the identified cholera hotspots.
• Develop and deliver capacity‑building activities for local partners, including the Burundi Red Cross and community relais.
• Support logistics planning and oversee the deployment of KOBO data‑collection tools.
• Ensure the survey follows the Sandec/Eawag methodology and questionnaire.
• Coordinate with IFRC, the Country Support Platform, COUSP and other stakeholders to align survey activities with the national cholera elimination plan.

Required profile

• Proven experience in WASH surveys and public health data collection.
• Familiarity with cholera control strategies and national health planning.
• Ability to work closely with volunteer networks and local health authorities.

Required skills

• KOBO data‑collection platform.
• Survey methodology design and implementation.
