Production Manager – Manufacturing (Gitega, Burundi)

About the role

The client is a manufacturing company producing PP woven and non‑woven packaging bags in Gitega, Burundi. The Production Manager will lead all production activities, ensuring that output meets customer orders, quality standards and delivery timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and supervise daily, weekly and monthly production activities in line with approved schedules.
• Lead production teams, manage shift planning, attendance, performance and staff development.
• Ensure efficient utilisation of machinery and equipment, coordinating with technical and maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
• Monitor raw material usage, waste, scrap and non‑conforming products to support cost control.
• Maintain compliance with quality, occupational health, hygiene and safety procedures.
• Prepare regular production reports covering output, downtime, wastage, quality issues and team performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Industrial Production, Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience managing production operations in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics or packaging.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, manufacturing processes and machinery operation.
• Understanding of quality management, cost control and industrial health and safety requirements.
