Risk Analyst – Remote (Worldwide)

About the role

The Risk Analyst will identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, regulatory and reputational risks that could affect the organisation's performance. Working remotely, you will analyse large datasets, design detection models and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed risk controls throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor platform data to detect emerging risks such as payment fraud, account takeovers, spam, phishing and synthetic identity networks.
• Query large datasets using SQL, Python or similar tools to uncover attack vectors and quantify abusive behaviour.
• Design and implement rules, models and workflows that prevent fraudulent or high‑risk activity while minimising friction for legitimate users.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Finance and Legal to integrate risk controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as a primary responder during large‑scale fraud spikes or other active risk events, making rapid decisions to contain losses.
• Build dashboards and reports to track key risk indicators and communicate findings to leadership.
• Provide feedback on internal risk tools and collaborate on improving detection automation.
• Assist in evaluating third‑party risk intelligence vendors and threat‑intelligence feeds.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in risk analysis, fraud intelligence, trust & safety analytics or financial crime investigations, preferably in tech, e‑commerce or fintech.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn raw, messy data into actionable insights.
• Proven ability to make quick, high‑stakes decisions during incidents while balancing loss prevention and user experience.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders, including executives and legal teams.
• Familiarity with global compliance frameworks such as AML, KYC, GDPR or PSD2.
