Senior Supply Chain Associate

About the role

The Senior Supply Chain Associate will work under the Resource Management Officer and the Supply Chain Officer at IOM Burundi, managing end‑to‑end supply chain activities including procurement and logistics. The role supports coordination between the Supply Chain, Programme and Resource Management Units to ensure timely processing of procurement requests and avoid operational delays.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement actions for assigned projects, reviewing and prioritising purchase requests.
• Prepare source selection plans and tender documents for complex purchases.
• Compile and review procurement data, abstracts of offers and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and payment.
• Support the supervisor in processing high‑value purchases in line with established procedures.
• Develop project‑based procurement plans to optimise purchasing power.
• Participate in negotiations of terms and conditions and help resolve delivery issues.
• Enhance tracking of procurement pipelines and communication with internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement and logistics within an international or multilateral environment.
• Knowledge of standard procurement procedures and ability to apply them to complex, higher‑value purchases.
• Strong coordination skills to work with programme, supply chain and resource management teams.
• Attention to detail in data compilation, offer analysis and purchase order follow‑up.
