Planning & Monitoring Specialist (P-3)

About the role

The Planning & Monitoring Specialist will support UNICEF Burundi in preparing the next 2028‑2032 Country Programme. Working closely with UNICEF staff, development partners and government stakeholders, the specialist will ensure that the new programme is based on robust evidence and aligns with Vision Burundi 2040‑2060.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive situation analyses and generate evidence to inform programme design.
• Evaluate the 2024‑2027 programme cycle and document lessons learned.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations with government, UN agencies and development partners.
• Align the upcoming programme with national development priorities and emerging challenges.
• Support strategic planning, monitoring and reporting processes for the 2028‑2032 cycle.

Required profile

• Experience in programme planning, monitoring and evaluation within a development or humanitarian context.
• Familiarity with UNICEF’s programme cycle and country‑level coordination.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
