Programme Development and Quality Assurance Director

About the role

World Vision is seeking a senior leader to drive programme development and quality assurance across its Burundi operations. The role will shape funding strategies, oversee grant acquisition, and ensure that child‑well‑being initiatives meet the highest standards of impact and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the acquisition of diversified bilateral and multilateral funding by writing concept papers and proposals in collaboration with operations, finance and technical teams.
• Identify market opportunities, monitor donor trends and grow grant funding from governments and multilaterals.
• Develop and roll out the National Office grants acquisition and management strategy and business plan aligned with World Vision’s overall strategy.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for proposal development, pre‑positioning and grant performance across national and support offices.
• Ensure quality reporting, indicator tracking and communication of impact to key publics.
• Lead the design, implementation and monitoring of child‑well‑being strategies, integrating them into program and project designs.
• Supervise the preparation of a comprehensive annual child‑well‑being report.
• Direct compliance with World Vision, donor, SPHERE and other accepted norms and standards throughout program design and delivery.
• Oversee development, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation processes to achieve or surpass performance indicators and audit results.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in grant acquisition and management within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of donor landscapes, funding trends and multi‑lateral financing mechanisms.
• Demonstrated expertise in monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance processes.
