Kinyarwanda Bilingual Expert – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a native or near‑native Kinyarwanda speaker to help train next‑generation AI systems. In this remote contract position you will apply your linguistic knowledge to create high‑quality language data that improves how AI understands real‑world Kinyarwanda.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to Kinyarwanda audio and video recordings and produce accurate transcriptions with precise timestamps.
• Identify and record the emotional tone, mood, and intent of speakers to enrich training datasets.
• Analyse grammatical structures, sentence patterns and syntax in both Kinyarwanda and English.
• Explain cultural relevance and usage of idiomatic or nuanced expressions.
• Support translation validation, data labeling and linguistic review tasks.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and professionalism in all deliverables.
• Commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week and meet project milestones on schedule.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native fluency in Kinyarwanda with strong working proficiency in English.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills with keen attention to linguistic detail.
• Hands‑on experience in transcription, data annotation or related structured language work.
• Ability to recognise and document tonal, grammatical and contextual nuances.
• Self‑motivated, dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable remote‑working setup with stable internet connectivity.
