Finance Officer – REACH Malaria Project

About the role

PATH is seeking a Finance Officer to support the USG‑funded REACH Malaria project in Burundi. Based in Bujumbura, the officer will work closely with the Finance and Admin Manager to ensure sound financial management, compliance, and operational support for malaria elimination activities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates on spending.
• Ensure compliance with USAID and PATH policies and advise staff on donor requirements.
• Analyze monthly and quarterly expenses, including partner financial reports.
• Prepare financial projections, forecasts, and cash requests in collaboration with technical teams.
• Coordinate inputs for the annual work plan and budgeting process.
• Support procurement of commodities and equipment, securing necessary approvals.
• Track budget utilization to stay within approved limits.
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing required documentation and monitoring corrective actions.
• Manage property and assets such as IT equipment, transportation, and insurance.

Required profile

• Experience in financial management and compliance for donor‑funded projects.
• Familiarity with USAID regulations and nonprofit financial practices.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and support procurement and asset management.
• Strong analytical skills for budgeting, forecasting, and expense analysis.
