Operations Senior Manager/Director – Burundi

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking an Operations Senior Manager/Director to lead its Burundi program. The role will shape and execute the operational strategy across field operations, logistics and business functions, ensuring that inputs reach farmers efficiently and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑develop and implement the country’s operational strategy in partnership with the Country Director.
• Lead the annual operational planning cycle, including budgeting, resource allocation and road‑maps for field operations, logistics and business operations.
• Oversee field operations, managing farmer enrollment, input delivery, training, repayment tracking and technology adoption.
• Drive logistics and last‑mile distribution to ensure timely delivery of seeds, fertilizers and other inputs.
• Represent Operations in senior leadership forums, donor meetings and external stakeholder engagements.
• Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence across all departments.
• Review and optimise the core distribution model, assessing stock versus drop‑off strategies and enrollment processes.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in operations management, preferably within agricultural or development contexts.
• Strong track record of strategic planning, budgeting and resource management.
• Experience leading large, cross‑functional teams and coordinating with donors and external partners.
• Ability to translate country strategy into concrete operational execution.
