Operations Senior Manager/Director – Burundi

About the role

The Operations Senior Manager/Director leads One Acre Fund’s operational strategy in Burundi, ensuring that inputs reach farmers efficiently, on time, and within budget. This senior position oversees field operations, logistics, and business processes while driving data‑driven decision‑making and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑develop and execute the country’s operational strategy with the Country Director.
• Lead annual operational planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for field operations, logistics, and business functions.
• Oversee end‑to‑end supply‑chain activities, including demand forecasting, procurement, warehousing, and last‑mile distribution.
• Design and enforce field‑operations protocols, conduct regular field visits, and monitor farmer satisfaction metrics.
• Establish robust data systems for performance tracking, produce regular dashboards, and report operational results to senior leadership and donors.
• Identify operational risks, develop contingency plans, and ensure compliance with local labor laws and donor requirements.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and talent‑management experience, with a proven ability to build high‑performing teams.
• Budget ownership and financial strategy fluency, including experience with operational budgeting and cost control.
• Deep understanding of supply‑chain, logistics, and impact‑evaluation in an agricultural or development context.
• Experience navigating government relations and policy environments in low‑resource settings.
