Senior Finance Officer

About the role
The Senior Finance Officer will lead financial management for the RISE‑Burundi MNCH‑N project, ensuring accurate accounting, timely reporting, and compliance with Jhpiego policies, donor requirements, and local regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and month‑end close.
- Maintain and review financial records in QuickBooks, ensuring proper classification of transactions.
- Prepare, analyze and present financial reports to support management decision‑making.
- Monitor cash balances, forecast expenditures, and ensure tax and VAT compliance.
- Review budgets, travel advances and expense reports for accuracy and policy adherence.
- Supervise the Accountant and ensure the integrity of all financial documentation.
Required profile
- Proven experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a non‑profit or international development setting.
- Strong knowledge of donor compliance, budgeting and financial reporting standards.
- Ability to lead a small finance team and work collaboratively with program staff.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
