Communication Consultant (Ebola Preparedness)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Communication Consultant to support its Burundi mission. The consultant will work within the Project Development and Support Unit to ensure continuity and technical quality of media and communication interventions, especially around Ebola preparedness and response.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication plans for public health interventions, aligning with programme objectives and public health priorities.
• Coordinate media outreach, public information campaigns, and stakeholder engagement to promote accurate, evidence‑based messages on Ebola and migration.
• Produce and disseminate communication materials, press releases, and social media content.
• Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, providing timely feedback to programme teams.
• Support the unit in risk communication and community engagement activities.

Required profile

• National of Burundi with proven experience in communications, media relations, or public information.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, UN‑related environment.
• Strong writing and editing skills in English (and French, if applicable).
