Consultant for Gender Programmatic Review (International)

About the role

UNICEF Burundi seeks a senior consultant to lead a gender programmatic review of its Country Programme Document (CPD) 2024‑2027. The assignment will assess how gender equality is integrated across key sectors, identify gaps, and propose actionable recommendations to strengthen gender‑responsive programming.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive review of gender integration within health & nutrition, WASH, education & skills, child protection, social policy, and programme effectiveness.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, synthesize findings, and produce a detailed report with priority actions.
• Develop sector‑specific recommendations and an implementation roadmap.
• Present findings and recommendations to UNICEF Burundi senior staff and support follow‑up planning.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in gender studies, social sciences, international development, public policy or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in gender equality, programme review or related work.
• Fluency in both French and English.
• Experience with UN agencies or international organisations is an asset.

Required skills

• Expertise in conducting gender program reviews for UN or similar organisations.
• Strong research and data analysis capabilities.
• Excellent narrative and report‑writing skills.
• Knowledge of multisectoral action planning.
