Deputy Representative Operations (P-4) – Fixed Term

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations will act as the strategic business partner to the Head of Office, providing leadership and results‑focused management across all operational functions in Burundi. This senior P‑4 position supports the Head of Office, ensures continuity in their absence, and contributes to programme and management decisions that benefit children.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Office in managing the country office and act as Officer in Charge when required.
• Coordinate and oversee support services including budget, financial management and reporting, facilities, administration, supply and logistics, information and communications technology, and safety and security.
• Represent risk, governance and policy perspectives in senior management team discussions and promote results‑based management.
• Facilitate collaboration among functional areas to develop a unified operational vision.
• Provide risk‑informed, solution‑focused analysis and advice to senior management.

Required profile

• Senior professional capable of leading results‑oriented operations in a complex humanitarian environment.
• Experience acting as a strategic partner to senior leadership and managing multi‑disciplinary support functions.
• Ability to represent organizational risk and governance considerations in senior management forums.
• Strong analytical skills to deliver solution‑focused advice and support decision‑making.
